ITANAGAR: The Pushi Bango Students Union reiterated its demand for posting of sufficient numbers of teachers in the Pushi Bango dominated area and will continue the bandh call on Sept 3. The Union has informed that it would not allow vehicular movements in the Pushi Bango area.

ITANAGAR, Sept 2: A mass social service was organised at Palin circle headquarters to broaden the road from circle office to the market via public health centre and BDO office and make motorable one. This has also reduced the distance from market area to the circle HQ from I km to 200 meters.
Panchayat leaders and villagers of Middle Hinda, Dui, Tassar, Amji, Lumba, Govt staff of Palin circle, bussiness community and general public led by Palin ZPM Techi Azad voluntarily participated in the social service.

ITANAGAR, Sept 2: Arunachal Jagriti informed that talk program by Swami Vishweshananda, secretary, RK Mission hospital on topic “An action plan to eradicate drug from state of Arunachal Pradesh” has been postponed to 8th of September which actually was supposeed to be held on 3rd September.

Awareness camp
ITANAGAR, Sept 2: A medical awareness campaign was recently held at Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya, Tali, with KGBV Tali chairman Tamuk Tania overseeing the program along with medical officer of PHC Tali and his group of staffs.
The medical team examined couple of students who were suffering from headache, stomach pain, cough, scabies and eye infections. Various measures to keep away from disease affecting the area were informed during the day by medical officer.

20 JnNURM buses in capital region
ITANAGAR: The state Transport service has been operating 20 JnNURM buses in and around Capital complex. Of the total 20, 13 buses have been plying within the Capital Complex connecting various sectors for the convenience of students and staff with valid concessional cards. This was informed by station superintended, State Transport Service, Itanagar in a release today.
However, the concessional card holders are allowed to avail the service only twice
a day for a fixed period of time, the release said and asked them to stick to the
route numbers from C-
On the other hand six buses have been operating between Itanagar and Banderdewa and vice versa with a fixed revenue target, the release said while adding that concessional card horlders are not allowed to avail the concession service in these buses. One bus has been kept as spare bus, the release added.
Association question delay in Nguso case
ITANAGAR: Lendo Ao Welfare Association (LAWA) has questioned why state government is yet to arrest those erring police personnel involved in the death of late Jumchi Nguso. Association has appealed to student organizations, NGOs and general public to keep this issue alive till punishments are meted out to the perpetrator of such heinous crime.
Further union has drawn the attention towards forceful capture of Arunachal land by Assam officials in all boundary areas. It has asked both Assam and Arunachal government to have open discussion on this issue, so that people of both states can live peacefully.

ITANAGAR, Sept 2: A Committee under the Chairmanship of Joint Secretary (North East), Naveen Verma, Ministry of Home Affairs has been constituted to examine various issues relating to settlement of Chakmas in Arunachal Pradesh including the possibility of grant of Indian Citizenship to eligible Chakmas and to recommend measures to be taken by Central Government/State Government in the matter.
The Ministry of Home Affairs has approved 6 members from AAPSU which will be led by its President Takam Tatung. AAPSU had proposed 8 members but the Ministry has nodded for Vice President Nabam Tamar and General Secretary Tujum Poyom beside 2 Legal Advisors of the Union T T Tara and Toni Pertin. Advocate J M Singpho (local representative) is also in the Committee from AAPSU side.

Khandu had asked the apex students to call off their proposed bandh on Independence Day and assured all out support from government’s end to bring out a permanent solution to the decade long crisis. Constitution of this Committee could be seen as one of the commitment made by Khandu.
AAPSU had also proposed revival of Core Committee on Chakma issue and asked Khandu to be its chairman. The Core Committee was formed in 2002 in Namsai after a referendum rally there. The then Chief Minister Mukut Mithi was made its first chairman.
Third Party Monitoring claims its first victim

amount of Rs. 41.36 lakh had been sanctioned for year 2008-
After closely going through the monitoring report the state chief minister Dorjee Khandu has ordered for immediate suspension of BDO Mebo of that period S Dey and had also ordered for an enquiry with specific directions not to revoke the suspension order until the complete enquiry report is submitted to the government.

It may be recalled that the efforts of the State Govt. in getting 3rd party monitoring institutionalized for SPA projects were appreciated by the Planning Commission as well as the Central Govt. Recently, the Planning Department has decided to extend the scope of 3rd party monitoring to BADP and RIDF projects as well. The agreement for this covering 8 eastern Districts has already been signed with NEDFi on Sept 1 and will soon be executed with NABCONS for monitoring the remaining 8 Districts in the western part of the State. The GPS coordinates (latitudinal and longitudinal location) of the project site will also be included as a part of the report for each project to check duplication of projects in future. (PRO TO CM)
Siram appeals to citizens to let hydro
projects come up
PASIGHAT, Sept 2: The Educaiton Minister Bosiram Siram has appealed to the people of state to welcome the hydro power projects for financial development of the state. The projects would not only meet the demands of water and electricity, but would help to set up industries, control flood and bring in developments in agricultural sector which would make Arunachal a financially strong state. He further said that bandh yields nothing.

Union questions airfield extension
ITANAGAR, Sept 2: All Upper Subansiri District Students Union (AUSDSU) has expressed concern over proposed extension of present airfield of Daporijo town. The Daporijo airfield which at the moment is only used for Pawan Hans and military helicopter service has been deteriorating in recent years. However government of India has decided to renovate airfields along the Arunachal borders of which Dapoirjo is one keeping in mind the Chinese threat. While welcoming the decision for renovation of airfield, AUSDSU presented some logistic problem which may hamper the implementation of this project.
The present airfield is situated in the heart of district headquarter and there is limited scope for further extension. Also extension may cause displacement of people settled nearby airfield. But the main cause of worry is if any accident happens, it may endanger live of many civilians because of the geographic location of airfield.
Keeping all this in mind AUSDSU has appealed to the civil aviation department to look for other alternatives in regard to airfield.
ITANAGAR, Sept 2: Jaal Welfare Society (JWS) has expressed deep shock at the way and manner the former chief minister Gegong Apang was arrested.
The society said, Gegong Apang who had served the state for more than 20 years as the chief minister is known as "the Father of the Arunachal politics and credit goes to Apang for all development activities in state since NEFA to present days.
Society questioned the arrest procedure without serving any proper notice. If the arrest of Apang is not politically motivated, the state Govt. should break it’s silence on PDS scam, the society said.
The Society also demanded the state Govt that SP SIC M S Chauhan be terminated and PDS case handed over to CBI for punishment to all accused. The society further said that the case should be heard in session court in state instead of Lakhimpur.
It also extended support to the organizations including ANSU in its demand for early release of five Arunachalees arrested in Tinsukia in Assam recently following a group clash. The Association appealed the Nyishi Elite Society to take up the matter and also appealed Arunachal and Assam Govts to solve the case immediately.
GREF apologise for manhandling of Dr
Ziro, Sept 2: A peace meeting between the villagers of Tajang and GREF in connection with the incident of manhandling of Dr.Tage Kano on 30th August last, and the flare up that followed was held at the initiative of the Lower Subansiri Deputy Commissioner, at her office chamber here this evening.
The Chief Engineer, GREF, Col. V.K.Badola who attended the meeting on the part of the GREF, vehemently condemned the incident and apologized to Dr.Kano and the Arunachal Pradesh Doctors Association (APDA) and requested the villagers not to flare up the incident further for the betterment of all.
The Deputy Commissioner Sadhana Deori, who chaired and moderated the meeting accepted the apology offered by the Chief Engineer, GREF on behalf of the people and the APDA. She also expressed her deep anguish on the act of arson and rioting by the civil population and said that appropriate action will be taken on the guilty. Informing that two culprits who were involved in the assault of Dr. Kano have been arrested and case registered against them in the Police Station, the Deputy Commissioner requested the APDA representative to close the chapter there and let law take its own course.
The villagers who were informed of the action being taken by the District Administration on their demands for shifting of GREF camp from Pine grove area also assured to maintain peace and status quo till a final step is taken by the government on the matter.

AALO, Sept 2: Arunachal Pradesh Building & Other Construction Workers Welfare Board Chairman Jalley Sonam in presence of APB&OCWWB Secretary cum Commissioner Labour and Employment Ojing Darung gave away the first scholarship award of the Board to Marsum Lottem of VKV Jirdin during APB&OCWWB awareness cum meeting at Aalo today.
Urging all the officers and public leaders to work for the welfare of labour community, Sonam appreciated EE (E&M) Er. Ninya Bagra, AE, PHED Bomi Nyorak, AE, RWD Reli Kato for attending the awareness camp and expressed displeasure over the district administrative officers and other HoDs of Aalo over their negligence to turn up for the workers awareness meeting of the government.
The chairman advised WRD EE Aalo to deposit cess and also urged the other departments to deposit One per cent Cess to the board.
APB&OCWWB Secretary Ojing Darung advised workers of all government department/PSUs, organized and unorganized sectors of the District to register their names under Workers’ Welfare Board. He also briefed about Building and Other Construction (Regulation of Employment & Condition of Service) Article, 1996 and the Building and Others Construction Workers Welfare Cess Act, 1996. District Labour Officer Lee Ete highlighted about the benefits provided by the board and advised the workers to register their names in the board by depositing Rs. 20 per month to avail the benefits. Highlighting the Cess collection of the district he informed that RWD has deposited above Rs 7 lacs, PHED 4 lacs, Hydro Power civil Rs 3 lacs, PWD 1 lacs and Power department deposited less than one lac till today and there was no any Cess contribution from WRD, Aalo.
Ete further advised the AAPWU executive members of Aalo Unit to work hard for the welfare of the workers and to check and stop engagement of labourers in private works by their concerned officers. He also advised the labours not to produce or submit false medical reimbursement bill.
AAPWU President Tumar Bagra, Secretary General D Kayi and Basar Unit AAPWU General Secretary Ipe Kamum highlighted about the workers problems of their respective areas and appealed to the Chairman and Commissioner to look into the labour problems.
All Arunachal Pradesh Public Transport Federation, general secretary Dobing Sonam appreciated the chairman and the secretary of the board for organizing such awareness campaign for the welfare of working community in the state.

SSA teachers bat for each other
ITANAGAR, Sep. 2: All Arunachal Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan Teacher’s Association Lower Subansiri district unit has came out in support of ultimatum served by its parental organization to the state government for early regularization of SSA teacher’s job. It is to be noted that recently All Arunachal Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan Teacher’s Association had served an ultimatum for regularization of job failing which it threatened to launch phase wise pen down strike.
Informing that many SSA teachers are serving state for last many years with meager salary without getting any TA/DA, time has come for state government to reward these teachers by regularizing their jobs, association added.
The Lower Subansiri district unit of All Arunachal Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan Teacher’s Association (AASSATA) has strongly supported the proposed phase wise ‘pen down’ strike by AASSATA in support of its demand for early regularization of services of teachers serving under SSA in the state.
Reminding the Government about the law of equal pay for equal works, the district unit of the SSA teachers association questioned that if the services of all the OBB (Hindi language) state sponsored contractual teachers and officiating teachers can be regularized that too without conducting any interview, then why can not the services of the SSA teachers.

Meanwhile Itanagar Police is looking for miscreants who pelted stone at the festival ground in the intervening night of 1/9/2010 and 2/9/2010. The incident happened as people celebrating the festival were about depart from the venue after whole night Ponung.
Solung Festival Celebration Committee (SFCC), Itanagar volunteers when tried to chase them, the miscreants disappeared into the dark of the night.
SFCC, Itanagar has lodged a written FIR at Itanagar Police Station to nab the culprits.
While condemning the incidence and the people involved in the incidence, SFCC, Itanagar urged upon the concerned authority to provide adequate police security cover specially in the night during Solung Festival at the ground so that such incidence could be averted before hands.

AEKSU demands early construction of Seppa-
ITANAGAR, Sept 2: Expressing resentment over the slow progress of development activities, particularly road infrastructure, All East Kameng Students Union has urged the Gammon India Ltd to expedite the construction work of the 81 KM NEC funded Seppa to Chayang Tajo road.
The Govt officials and general people of Bameng and Chanyang Tajo area are facing lot of problems due to delay in construction of road, the union said and alleged that quality of road construction works is not up to the satisfactory.
Mentioning other ongoing development activities, the union also demanded immediate completion of Rajiv Gandhi Gramin Vidyutikaran Yojana under Seppa electrical division, quality implementation of PMGSY project in East Kameng. It also asked the civil aviation department to provide basic facilities like passengers and VIP waiting rooms, security checking room at Seppa Helipad.
While pleading for proper infrastructure in Seppa Govt College, the union also appealed the people to extend cooperation to the district administration in its eviction drive against land encroachment.

ITANAGAR, Sept 2: Nyishi Nyem Acham while reacting to alleged murder of Late Nebia Tara Yater, daughter of Nebia Sania from Bulapu Papumpare on Aug 16 has said that justice be delivered.
It informed that Yater was deserted by her first husband and subsequently married off to the younger brother.
NNN while reacting to the alleged killing said that first husband of Yater is answerable to the parents and the society.
While terming the killing as inhuman, NN has called for punishment of those involved.
ITANAGAR, Sept 2: All Sagalee Students Union is going to organize social service at government middle school, Laptap on 11th September to renovate 60 bedded MIBT boys hostel. The need for renovation aroused as existing hostel has been deteriorating in recent years. The renovation work is being conducted under collaboration with All Papum Pare District Students Union and Toru Circle Students Union through self help motto.
